Provider Connections

Finding providers that suit you is overwhelming when there are hundreds to choose from. We know which providers are good and which one is the right fit for you.

Part 1 of 4About

What this looks like

The NDIS gives you choice, but hundreds of providers all claim to be person-centred and high-quality. Some are. Many are not.

We have worked with providers across Melbourne. We know who delivers, who over-promises, who has waitlists, and who will return your call. We match you with providers based on your needs, your personality, and what has worked for other people in similar situations.

If a provider is not working out, we help you transition to a new one. It is your plan and your choice.

Part 2 of 4What we do

What we do

Finding providers who do what they say they will.

  • Needs assessment

Understanding exactly what you need from a provider: the service type, plus the style, personality and practical needs.

    In practice

"Tell me what you're looking for in an OT. The approach, the style, what works best for you. I've got a few in mind who are collaborative, explain as they go, and check in regularly. Let's see who feels like the best fit."

  • Introduction & setup

We introduce you to the provider, sit in on the first meeting if you want, and make sure the service agreement is fair.

    In practice

"First session with the new psychologist is Thursday. I can be there for the start to help get the goals and service agreement sorted, then step out so it's just you two. Or I can wait outside. Whatever feels most comfortable."

  • Provider shortlisting

Researching and shortlisting providers based on your specific criteria. You get two or three options that fit your criteria.

    In practice

"Three physios, all solid. One is ten minutes from your place with Monday mornings free. One does evening sessions, which suits your work hours. One specialises in your condition with a six-week wait. Which matters most to you: proximity, timing, or specialisation?"

  • Provider transition

If something is not working, we help you change providers. We handle the conversation, the paperwork, and finding the replacement.

    In practice

"If the arrangement isn't working, we'll move to a new provider. I'll handle the transition, the calls, the paperwork, the handover. A new worker confirmed within the week. You won't need to have any of those conversations yourself."

Part 3 of 4Who it's for

Who this is for

  • People who are overwhelmed by the number of provider options
  • People who have had bad experiences with previous providers
  • People who want someone to vet providers before they commit
  • People new to the NDIS who do not know where to start

Part 4 of 4Costs

Cost, eligibility & getting started

What it costs and how we match you with a provider.

What it costs
Provider connection support is priced under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. What it costs depends on the type of support and whether it happens on a weekday, evening, or weekend. You will always get the cost confirmed in writing before we start.
Am I eligible?
Provider connection support sits under Capacity Building, specifically Support Coordination. If your plan includes Support Coordination funding, it can be used to research, shortlist, and connect you with providers. A support coordinator can check whether your plan covers this.
Where we work
Get Unlocked is based in Thomastown. We work in person across Greater Melbourne and parts of regional Victoria, and with people anywhere in Australia by phone and video.
How to start
  1. Get in touch and tell us what kind of provider you are looking for.
  2. We have a quick chat about your goals, preferences, and what has and has not worked before.
  3. You are matched with a worker and your first session with a provider is booked in.
