Crisis Support

When things fall apart, a provider pulls out, your housing is unstable, or your situation changes overnight, we start on the most urgent problem first.

Part 1 of 4About

What this looks like

Crisis does not wait for business hours. Providers cancel with no notice. Living situations break down. Health changes suddenly. The NDIS process was not built for urgency, but your life does not stop because the system is slow.

We respond fast. When a crisis hits, your support coordinator prioritises your situation, coordinates emergency supports, and works through the immediate problem before anything else.

Once the immediate situation is stabilised, we help you build a plan so it does not happen again. That means backup providers, clear escalation paths and safeguards that work.

Part 2 of 4What we do

What we do

What we do when a crisis hits.

  • Provider breakdown

When a provider cancels, stops showing up, or is no longer safe. We find a replacement fast and manage the transition.

    In practice

"Friday afternoon and your support worker has resigned. I'm already on the phone. By this evening I'll have someone confirmed for Monday so your week runs as planned. We'll sort the long-term replacement properly once the immediate gap is covered."

  • Health changes

When your health changes suddenly, a hospital stay, a new diagnosis, or a medication change that affects your daily functioning.

    In practice

"I've spoken to the discharge team and adjusted your support hours for when you come home. Your worker knows the new schedule. Everything on this end is taken care of."

  • Housing instability

When your living situation becomes unsafe or breaks down. We coordinate with housing services, emergency accommodation, and your wider support team.

    In practice

"Let me make two calls. First one gets you somewhere safe tonight. Second one starts the conversation about what comes next. One thing at a time. Tonight is about being settled and safe."

  • Safety concerns

When you feel unsafe with a provider, at home, or in any situation. We act immediately to address the risk and involve the right authorities if needed.

    In practice

"You've told me how you feel and that's all I need to hear. I'm removing them from your roster today and I'll have a replacement confirmed by tomorrow. Your safety and comfort come first."

NDIS funded

Part 4 of 4Costs

Cost, eligibility & getting started

Costs, funding and how to get started.

What it costs
Crisis support coordination is priced under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. What it costs depends on the type of support and whether it happens on a weekday, evening, or weekend. You will always get the cost confirmed in writing before support starts.
Am I eligible?
Crisis support sits under Capacity Building, specifically Recovery Coaching and psychosocial recovery support. If your plan includes this funding, it can be used to respond when things suddenly go wrong. A support coordinator can check your plan and confirm this for you.
Where we work
Get Unlocked is based in Thomastown. We work in person across Greater Melbourne and parts of regional Victoria, and with people anywhere in Australia by phone and video.
How to start
  1. Get in touch and tell us what is happening.
  2. We have a quick chat about what is going on and what you need.
  3. You are matched with a worker and we act on the first steps straight away.
